I approach image making as a form of collecting. The places and forms, whether iconic or pedestrian, are captured for their emblematic qualities, their suggested narratives and their absence of a clear time period.
By modifying film cameras to create vignetted, dreamlike images the work takes on a likeness to 19th century survey photography or craftsman era printmaking. My goal in composition has been to capture moments steeped in possible meanings, which a viewer of today and a viewer many years from now, may find equally compelling.
